On top of the monthly subscription and pay-per-item content, OnlyFans offers a tipping system that lets you send a creator a freely chosen amount, whether under a post, in a private message, or during a live stream.

What a tip is actually for

A tip isn't mandatory and doesn't necessarily unlock extra content: it's mainly a way to support a creator or thank her for a particularly enjoyable exchange, somewhat like on a streaming platform. Some creators also use it as an indirect way to access exclusive content ('top 10 tippers this month get...'), but how it works is entirely up to each creator.

The minimum tip amount is usually very low (often around $1), with no fixed ceiling. Technically, sending one works the same way as any other payment on the platform, through the payment method already saved on the account.

As with any OnlyFans spending, it's worth keeping an eye on how these small amounts add up over time: on its own a tip looks minor, but accumulated tips can end up costing far more per month than a simple subscription.
