Identity Verification on OnlyFans: How It Works

Before a creator profile can go live and publish content, OnlyFans enforces a strict verification process designed to ensure that only identified adults can offer this type of content.

The steps in the verification process

Verification relies on submitting a valid official ID along with a live selfie to confirm the person creating the account matches the ID provided. This data is processed by specialized identity-verification providers, used by many online platforms, and is never visible to subscribers.

This check is systematic and repeated for every new creator account: there's no legitimate way to publish content on OnlyFans without going through this step, which clearly sets the platform apart from the less regulated channels mentioned elsewhere on this blog (Telegram, for instance).

For a subscriber, this upfront verification remains the strongest guarantee that the content they're viewing genuinely comes from a consenting adult — a key reason to choose a reference platform over an unverified channel.
