Onlyfans increases its value to over a billion dollars

The online platform Onlyfans grows and grows. This is now also reflected in a new round. The path leads from adult entertainment to mainstream.
All kinds of celebrities, influencers and even erotic stars frolic at Onlyfans, often showcasing revealing photos and videos to their followers. Unlike Instagram, these photos and videos can only be viewed if a monthly subscription is paid. This concept is well received by users.
As reported by the American news agency Bloomberg, Onlyfans had a turnover of more than two billion dollars last year. Onlyfans charges a 20% fee on content creators' revenue, which in this case is $400 million. In an ongoing funding round, the platform has thus received a valuation of more than a billion dollars.

In total, the British company has more than 130 million users who have registered in recent years. According to Bloomberg, the number of users grew by more than 100% in 2021 alone. Onlyfans says it is working on becoming more of a mainstream platform. The porn appeal that can still be heard should gradually be silenced.
On the contrary, Onlyfans wants to be a place where fans can connect with a wide range of celebrities and athletes. This aspect is also meant to attract more advertisers. The motto of the future is practically "Less undressing for more attraction". The most prominent users are rapper Cardi B. and professional boxer Floyd Mayweather. When Mayweather joined the platform, the CEO ofOnlyfans, Tim Stokely, said, "Athletes are a creative genre that we're seeing a lot of growth in." Mayweather is also convinced of the concept Onlyfans : "I can't wait to give you a glimpse of my life and new content, while getting to know the best fans".
The corona pandemic has come at the right time for Onlyfans. In addition to athletes and erotica stars, fitness trainers and cooks have also found their way to the website to offer their services.
